ya know i used to say the same thing then guess what happened? i had a baby of my own at the young age of 19. then when that happened i really saw why my parents did and still do what they do. they are concerned and really only trying to protect you. you need to learn a very valuable lesson from your parents. they want you to succeed in life and they are not in any way shape or form trying to hurt or anger you, they want you to grow, learn and understand and for that don't get mad at them. simply sit down and talk with them so you understand. they love you and you love them. i don't know if you were ever told that one day you will thank your parents for all the hardships and punishments that you got when you were a child, but i am telling you that.

Your obviously very young, and your feelings are very natural, don't sweat it, but consider giving the old folks a break.
I completely understand where your coming from, I assure you that they have probably muttered the same thing about you, but of course they don't mean it and I suspect that you don't either. You can perceive your parents actions as overly controlling, but they know what lies ahead of you in your life and are probably doing their best to prepare you for it. When you get frustrated at them, it's OK, it really is. Just for a minute though, try to imagine what your life will be like if suddenly one or both of them are gone. I don't suspect for a minute that they are perfect, but I would bet that they are trying their best for you. I used to hate that my Mother made me do the dishes every day, only recently did I realize that that was a half hour every single day when I got to spend alone with my mom, but I was so Angry at the situation, that I never even considered that this was an opportunity for some very special time together. Be careful for what you wish for, because you might just get it.

I do. Yes, I agree that I'm tired of being pushed around but they give us shelter, food, and clothing. They love you, no matter what happens, and give you the best things they can give you. When they are gone, you realize that you miss them and really need them when you need someone the most. I don't have my Dad living with me right now, and sometimes I don't like him pushing me around when he's there. But still, he loves me and he gave me my life, including my Mom. And I'm really thankful for everything I have. Everything I have is because of them. They just want you to be happy.

You are right. It's a free country. Find a great job. rent an apartment, quit school, pay all the bills, buy your own groceries, find medical insurance and you live that great life. OR, realize your parents are trying to raise you to be a well adjusted young adult and show them some respect.

Sugar babe; you do. When you get grown, go out and see just how easy it is without your parents around to give you a place to live, clothes you wear, food you eat, Doctor bills and a whole lot of other things. -- then if you manage to get married and have kids on your own, --- oh mama where are you? now that I need you.

If you are old enough to support & take care of yourself you don't have to stay with your parents. The ages vary from state to state so you'll need to check it out. But remember, you'll have to pay all the bills & take care of all your needs.

But without them you would be living in a childrens home on state handouts. You will not appreciate them until you are older or when you have children yourself and yousee what a hard job it is.
