What's wrong with it? Being a mom or dad spanking her/his son daughter, THEIR IS NOTING WRONG WITH IT. I have heard to many people on these boards try to make issues with father's spanking their daughters. Bare or not, It doesn't make a difference. Your her father, and are doing this because you have to, not because you want to. My husband (like me) HATES spanking his little girls, but he does, because he knows it's what's best for them.

To me, what your talking about is called a spanking. Your spanking their bottoms, not their pants. I don't think parents should spank for everything, however when you do, it should be well remembered. Pulling down underpants, is the best possible way do deliver a spanking. It will produce the best results. I don't buy into the argument, that it's humiliating, or some sort of sexual assault. IT'S JUST A SPANKING, the way they ought to be. A child gets humiliated by enforcing ANY consequence, why? Because their little egos just took a hit, like anyone, children don't like to be corrected. My one "MUST" when using spanking as correction is to ALWAYS do them in privet. Real humiliation would be others watching someone else get a spanking. It's kind of like watching a parent lecture a child in public, that child you can tell is embarrassed. When a spanking is given one on one, in privet, it's more focused on the issue of why they earned it.

I am trying to look at this from every angle, because I was spanked that way up to the age of about 11, then one last time at around 14. Yes by my dad, and no, humiliation was really not a factor, I was more worried about my rear. I can't say I ever really felt humiliation about the spanking it's self, sure I had lots of emotions going through me, like sadness, a little scared (about what was going to happen), more importantly I knew I let my parents down.

So, I say, Yes you go right on spanking how best you see fit, and yes the way your doing it (as long as you leave no marks) is the most productive way. Our goal is to do them rarely, so if you make spanking a HUGE deal, they will remember it.

I think different things work for different children. My daughter has never been spanked and she's now almost 10. My son has been spanked and he's 3. However, I do not think there is a need to spank with pants or underwear down.

I was spanked like that always. It was just they way that my father did it. I was spanked until I was 13. Once when I was 13 or so my body was going through changes and well I really did not want a bare butt spanking.... so I was a good girl and did get one ever again... Although I still got punished as a teen ...I would spank my kids the same way... the bare bottom thing made me extra good for about a year

maybe not underwear but pants possibly I don't because its just weird to me to pull a child's pants down and spank them I understand the concept that it will hurt more and get the kid's attention but its a little inappropriate in some situations like dad spanking daughter don't think thats cool.other than that depends on age of the kid too.

I dont find it necessary to pull pants down for spanking, and I never had that done to me. I was spanked, but that was effective enough without having my pants pulled down for it.

but I do spank my kids, on the butt through the pants.

they mostly have straight A's are scouts , alter servers and athletes.
I did something right and I think a spanking when they are really wrong made them fear doing the wrong thing in principle.

that's the main thing and don't stay mad for long
always forgive them.

I was taught that God made the hand to fit quite nicely on the bottom of a child who misbehaves. When using a hand to spank vs. a belt, switch or other object, because there is less possiblity for physical injury (our hand reacts to pain just like their bottom). Personally I wouldn't smack a bare bottom, unless they were already naked such as in the bath, or refusing to get in the bath...

Spare the rod and spoil the child. As long as spanking is done in a controlled manner, there is nothing wrong with it. You have my blessing.

maybe not underwaer down. that can give the child a few physocolgical problems but in my point of view. there is nothing wrong with spanking your kids!

I don't agree with it.. it can cause lots of trauma in a child, and it teaches them that violence and hitting is the way to solve problems. Especially with pants down... that could cause lots of psycological problems. When a child feels helpless, and is being hurt, especially with their clothes being torn down it really can mess them up in the long run. My friend used to get spanked, and to this day she has many psycological problems and will just start crying in the middle of class thinking that she's not good enough; that she's bad and such. Discipline is good.. like time out, grounding, getting privelages taken away, ect. But hitting just isn't right. Especially if you're a father... she trusts and loves you as a father and she will get the message that men hitting women is okay... who knows- down the road she could have a boyfriend that hits her and she thinks its okay. That's a little far-fetched, but most problems like that stem back to when they were young, getting spanked, ect. So please, don't hit her.
