Becoming so intelligent they can build the Tower of Babble and kick Gods Butt?

This is a guess, but I personally think the next step is integrating our biological bodies with our technology. That seems to be the way it is going and that will radically change the meaning of human. Imagine our minds integrated directly with the power of computers.

Evolution is constantly happening. The whole tower of Babel thing is ridiculous considering that all that is above us (physically speaking) is the sky/clouds/space. As for kicking God's butt? Well that clearly depends on your religious convictions.
