b/c they don't bark, they don't need to be taken outside every few hours even in the lousiest weather, they do not chew on your shoes. they are soft and snuggly and lovable.

cats don't hiss and scratch unless you make them angry. And how can you complain about meowing with the way dogs bark?

Also, a lot of apartments will allow cats that won't allow dogs.

I like dogs and everything, but I appreciate cats as well. I can't understand people that don't like either one. I think they are all swell.

Cats are not dumb! My cat doesn't do any of the things you said, she can't meow and doesn't scratch shes declawed. Dogs you have to let outside to go to bathroom , cats are no problem at all, only comfort for you. Cats are nice to have around you, it reduces the stress in your life. My cat is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her.

Yeah, but they also don't need to be walked. They're cleaner. Cleaning a litter box is a lot easier than picking up dog poo. Cats can be left alone for long periods of time. They don't require absolute attention at all times. And guess what, they aren't dumb...they are too smart to do tricks. Stupid dogs...

Actually, I have nothing against dogs, but I do prefer cats.

i have two cats brother and sister 10 years old
and two dogs both brothers, 7 months old

first my cats do not scratch, hiss, and meow when they are happy and when we are talking to them, giving extra attention or they see there favorite treat, its about training as my cats were trained as kittens not to scratch, our male cats ,fetches the ball and brings it back to my husband, they play hide n seek, and do tricks....my female cat will turn the lights on and off before a storm, and loves to entertain us with her personality, .i find extreme comfort in having my two house cats in my life and would not have it any other way, they are the perfect house pets when we lived in the city, and provided me with excellent company when my husband use to work different shift

now we have moved to our own home in a remote community and lots of land, and we got two dogs, who are best friends with our two house cats, but with our dogs we had ore to deal with in bathroom training, (they are trained now) were cats use a litter pan, our dogs now because they are still a bit of a pup, are in daily traing, and need to be keep occupied, we do enjoy taking our dogs every where with us and for walks, unlike the housbound cats, but they ALL also provide great companship, we enjoy every pet we have and would never change a thing.

I have always been a dog person until I got my cat last fall. She's sassy, and her personality constantly amuses me. She also cuddles with me every night and greets me at the door when I get home from work or class - she makes me feel loved. I still consider myself a dog person, but I'm totally in love with my cat.

Because people are delusional. Read some of these answers; so disconnected from reality that the utterer of these answers needs to be committed. You have discovered one of life's great truths. DOGS RULE!!!! cats stink!!!!

not all cats hiss and scratch.
just as there are dogs who DO bites and snarl.

cats are mostly very wise. they have their own character.
they are not like little servents going around to serve their owners.
they have their own personality.
they give affection and they purr.

they can be very relaxing when they sit on you (Especialyl while purring)
and very amusing while playing.

also useful with mice- that's not just a myth.

plus- they miaow!
