I recommend a belief system or religion that provides proof of its gods or goddesses. There isn't one currently on the planet. So I am an atheist. It's the only way that makes any sense to me.

Follow your heart.
Look within to where your spirit resides and follow.
Don't let anyone influence you by their words - look to the deeds that they do.
Search out some stuff on "Spirituality" rather than "belief systems" or "religions"....that's what you're probably chasing! You're looking for an answer to the question "why am I here? "Is there anything more than just existence?" right? The Spirit is where those answers reside. Such a journey is often pretty dark, and the journey to the Spirit is filled with pitfalls and darkness, but it's oh-so-worth it!!
Good Luck!
Love and Light,
Jarrah
(btw. I'm a Buddhist because, like the person above said, "it makes sense"!

Go with whatever feels right to you.
I was raised in the Salvation Army, but Christianity wasn't for me so I went atheist. I do still have beliefs about the supernatural, but I don't follow any religion. My beliefs are sort of a mix between Shaminism and Wicca. That's what feels right to me; that's what makes sense. I'd suggest doing some soul-searching and finding out what you really believe in your heart. That's what worked for me.

You might find the Belief-O-Matic quiz at Beliefnet.com amusing:
http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html
It's fun, and the results can sometimes be surprising.
Beyond that, I recommend the belief system that makes sense to you personally -- I wouldn't presume to recommend my own, because although it works very well for me it might be totally unsuited to you. If you want relatively objective and easy-to-understand information of a variety of different religions, you might try
http://www.religioustolerance.org
or
http://www.religionfacts.com
That, of course, is assuming that you're looking into religion and not a philosophy, like Utilitarianism:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilitarianism
or Enlightened Egoism:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enlightened_self-interest
both of which make a certain amount of sense to me personally.

I would reccommend discordianism. Google it. It is a little known faith, but flexible, not fundamentalist, and allows for a lot of spiritual growth. It is also the funnest belief system I have ever had. Email me at lord_makus@yahoo.com with any questions.

I would suggest that you read the Bible, and follow what God gives to you. Religion will send people to hell. A personnel relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to go. Man puts too many rules that God never intended for us to follow.

I think Catholic because it's not too hard to follow and you don't have to do too much like pray every 1 hour or something like that. Make sure before you choose, you have all your info right. Good Luck with your choice.
