How about a site where I can find the most commomly used (if there is one)alphabet so i can understand the letters?

Yesjapan is probably the best, since there are a LOT of lessons about reading, writing, speaking, ect...but you have to pay money. Omniglot is a site about all kinds of writing systems, and it has useful info about written japanese, along with charts. The Japanese page is a good site with i think some language lessons and lessons on the culture, and then a lot of products. Sharedtalk is where you can chat online with people with other countries and you can do a language exchange there.

i HIGHLY suggest Yesjapan, it's really fun! good lessons, too! there are games, music, and mvies to watch, too!
