Hey.
So I want to get a new nice camera, because I think it would be fun.
But, these long cold winters with snow and crappy days outside make me think I'd never use it during this whole season...

What do you think?

i live in Wyoming and take a lot of winter shots with both digital and film cameras. my suggestions -
1. Even if its cold out, the camera can still be warm. Carry it in a gadget bag that can be warmed in the car, or if is small enough, use the neck strap and then wrap your large winter coat. yes you have to open the coat to get the picture so plan shots ahead to minimize the "exposure" time.
2. Batteries will not last long, always take a replacement set and keep them in a warm pocket.

I've used mine a lot this winter. Then again, I just dress warm when it's cold outside. If you seriously do nothing in the winter because it's too cold, you probably don't need a camera.
