I've been married for 29 years to a wonderful man, but fell in love with another almost ten years ago. The "other" man and I ended the relationship after seven years but there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, re-live the times we shared, and ache for him. But life goes on -- like everyone else has answered, not only stay busy but try to focus on things that make you happy. And don't do as I do and listen to the music that reminds you of him, or visit the places that you spent with him. It really hurts, but I'm proof that you can go on and be happy. Good luck, sweetie.

Definitely give yourself some time, like the first person said. It might take awhile depending on how close you were with the person.
Besides that, you should keep your mind occupied. Hang with your friends and family. Get into painting or gardening. Listen to music.
And maybe even find someone else to love.

The best way to get over someone you truly loved is to break off all contact. It's so painful it actually and physically hurts, but in the end it is the solitary and only way to get over them. Starting a relationship with someone new straight away does not help at all...... The person you are dating of new will only get hurt. To heal, the only person who can help you is yourself. You are the master of your own happiness. So i suggest you know forget all about him and hit the streets with your friends. Hangout with them, talk to them about their experiences and get over it all by keeping yourself busy and your mind occupied!!!.... You'll feel so much better by then. :)
P.s There's plenty more fish in the sea!!! :D

time is the only thing that helps you get over someone you love. As time goes by, you work, go to school, meet new people, share the pain, then you begin to meet up with others, start dating again. Also, during that time, keep yourself as busy as possible. Also it does help

Fall in love with yourself. ( Please people do not steal my answer and try to put a spin on it.) I know this is some good advice.
Sister do what ever it takes to make yourself feel special. Time heals all heat breaks. The best to you :)

I don't think you ever really get over it, but you can still move on and live your life eventually.
