Islam teaches nothing but love for all. It teaches to turn the other cheek if slapped (just like christianity). When Islam was created, there was no america, therefore no hatred for america. The hatred towards america is mainly influenced my the power hungry mullahs (muslim priests) as war benefits them the most. Look at the hezbollah leader, or Al-Qaida, they aren't suffering but becoming infinitely infamous whereas the public they influence is dying. People say islam teaches to hate all "non-believers", it does not. The quote people mention is in regard to watching ur back during the time of mohammed when half the family was muslim and half was not. So hatred is not being taught by islam but the political mullahs who have now come to be adored by their ignorant followers. Just like Socrates, when he opened an eye and saw things differently he was put to death, same happens if you go against the mullahs.

Many Muslim schools teach that we are the "Great Satan" and that Jews are animals and teach that killing us is actually a good thing FOR God and humanity. The Quran in general does indeed teach to oppress unbelievers.

Now why would Americans have ANY reason to be suspicious of Muslims around the globe? Hmm I can think of 2 reasons that used to stand in New York City. Also maybe the fact that everyday on the news we hear a threat from a dictator or cleric, and Muslims burning the American flag. Usually when people recieve constant death threats, hatred, and are attacked, they dont respond too well.

TRUE Muslims do not hate any body and wish for all guidance to follow the wright way.
