It should be

- A mi familia le gustaba ....

Because 'familia' singular => le (not les) is used
About gustaba/gustaban, it depends on what your famiy liked. For example

A mi familia le gustaba mi amigo
A mi familia le gustaban mis amigos

It's kinda reverse in Spanish. Those sentences actually mean literally

My friend was pleasing to my family
My friends were pleasing to my family

That's why the verb gustar is conjugated in accordance to 'my friend(s)'

Hope this helps

Its gustaba. Remember for Spanish family is like a single unit. Not individual people.

I am pretty sure that's it. Look it up on Google or ask someone that speaks spanish (maybe a spanish teacher)
