I went to Denmark for a year in high school with Rotary International. My sister recently went to Gernmany with them for a summer. We both stayed with host families that had children our age. Both were great programs that I highly recommend. Because Rotary requires reciprocal hosting, you don't have to pay the family that takes your child, so it is also more economical. Other programs make you pay the host families, which I think is sort of creepy.
You did not mention how old your daughter is, though, how independent she is, what her grades are like, or how long she's been interested in this. All of those factors should weigh in to whether it is a good idea for her personally. But the principle is a great idea. and it looks great on college applications.

There are many programs that would provide your daughter with a safe place to stay, and many families that open up their homes. She could get a job teaching English in Germany to help pay her way and it would also help her learn German (the students will love teaching it to her). I know that immersion in the country will do wonders for learning the language. I have a friend who has visited three different countries for extended time and learned the language so quickly. She is now in Poland, and is fairly fluent after only a couple months! Best of luck to your daughter.

Yes, it is a smart idea. There no comparison with studying a language in a country where it's spoken as the primary language. Check out the list of schools and programs via this link :

Most programs also have provisions for living with a German family or referrals to an organization that can arrange the same. Good luck!

She could probable attempt and set it up via an American college. maximum of them have some form of substitute software. She would probable have a sturdy time. She would study lots, and not in trouble-free terms the language yet in addition related to the international often. Germany is very risk-free and centrally placed in Europe so she could holiday and spot many different countries mutually as there (right here). Getting out and seeing different aspects of the international is often enlightening. That mentioned, except you truthfully p.c. to stay in Germany or study German literature or background, there is not any longer lots sense it attempting to verify German. that's a perplexing language that takes years to comprehend. And right this moment Germans start up interpreting English in related to the fourth grade so the greater youthful ones generally talk English greater valuable than any German she will have the skill to probable have the skill to verify. you are able to tell that via the posts you will see right here on Yahoo solutions; now and back the Germans write posts in English greater valuable than some human beings. so which you may answer your question: confident that's generally a clever theory yet via fact she will have the skill to verify quite some issues, the least of which will probable be the language.

best thing to do is to look into some sort of Study Abroad program. there are also student exchange programs.
going abroad to learn a language is by far one of the best experiances for a student! learning a foreign language here is quite difficult but when you are immersed in a different environment and culture in another country, it will be easier to learn!

It would be more economical for her to learn the language at home by taking a course. That, of course, would also be safer.I do not know whether the idea is smart or dumb. Her age would determine that.
