They might be wearing underarmor. It's really tight like spandex to keep the warmth in your body. Good for skiing and snowboarding.

You are referring, probably, to the GS suits. Those are far from warm - they are rather cold, actually. I own two of them and I usually wear my jacket over it and let my legs shiver a bit. They are meant to help the racer go faster through the course by eliminating bulk which may cause some drag. If you want to wear something nice and warm while skiing, go with a heavy jacket with water resistance, heavy water resistant snowpants, and water resistant gloves.

if you are just starting how to ski, I would never suggest a GS suit - you will be uncomfy and cold.

Race suits, although I have heard some racers refer to condoms. I don''t know what that means.

They are not warm. They are available in all sizes.
