You should say something as soon as possible. Your cousin may even know or be able to find a way to fix it or save files that are important or may have gotten lost. If you lie, the truth will still come out in the long run, and it will be worse for you because you didn't say so earlier (especially if things could have been made better or even fixed if you did). So, muster up the courage and make sure you let them know that you are apologetic, and you know you should not have done it and won't again (but only say that if you really mean it, then stick by what you say). Then next time, make sure you don't mess with things that you shouldn't in the first place. Because if you have to lie about it, that means it's probably not a good idea in the first place.

I don't what you did but whatever it is, you are worried. The best advice is to tell the truth, that way you only have to remember one story, if you know what I mean. Be open and honest. You will feel better about yourself and I think your cousin would respect you for being truthful. Good luck, buddy.
