I am working on finalizing my guest list and I was wondering how do you address a divorced woman who has not remarried. I have two on my list and I'm not sure what to write. One of them has kept their married name and the other has kept their maiden name. I don't know if that really makes a difference. So do I address them as a Mrs. or a Ms. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey-have a great wedding, and more importantly, a happily ever after marriage.

Ms. is appropriate for both.

When your addressing invitations for divorced couples or just for the divorced woman, you can just address it to them if they've kept their married name as Mrs..... and if she's gone back to her maiden name you can still either address it as MS or Mrs, depending on how she'd rather be addressed. If all else fails ask.

Both would be Ms. Jane Smith. If you use the Mrs. with the married name, that implies she is a widow. Mrs. implies marriage, and if neither are married it doesn't apply.

Basically, use Miss or Ms. for an unmarried woman. Use Mrs. for married women and widows.

To Miss Jane Smith should be fine, you only should address some one by Mrs if they are married or is an older woman

MS. is the proper way, even if she has still kept her married name.
Good luck and congrats!

Mrs. Is given to a lady who has been married, and is married.
