Try using a hair color that is ash based. Gold or red based colors will enhance your reddish brown hair. Beauty supplies carry various additives to reduce and or eliminate red and or gold, you add them to your hair color.

if you can afford it go to a salon and get it professionally done, they can make it brown and kill the red they will alos give you tips on what types of dyes or shades to use to help keep the red from showing.... also DO NOT use shampoos that bring out the highlights in your hair or the red WILL come right back!! also temporary haircolor is the best for your hair but it is a pain because it only last like 8 - 12 shampoos but dyeing your hair darker doesnt cause as much damage as lightning it... hope this helps

There are dyes that do not have ammonia. If you have a Sally Beauty Supply, the an be a lot of help. Use heat when you dye it like under a blow dryer or something because it will help the color set. Also maybe try ding it a little lighter than you actually want it becuase it will lighten in about a week to the color that you hopefully want.

I strongly suggest you to not dye your hair. Dyes contain chemicals such as bleach which is very unhealthy for your hair and can cause early boldness.
