Men or the women themselves too?

How willing would these women be to stand up for their rights if they could or if they had the necessary support?

Apparently it's the jews and the US. According to their media, all flaws and problems in the mid-east are the results of Jewish lobby groups corrupting the US Govt.

A few of the woman might be in as terrible condition as some socalled womaen in the wetern world.Normal human beings be they in West or East respect their mothers, sisters, wifes and daughters. As far exploitation of physical weakness of women is concerned,it has no boundaries or limits. If emancipation of woman lies in the freemixing and improper dress, then a few woman from Arab world could endorse this idea.I have been in Iraq, I found woman of Iraq very well groomed, confident and progressive.Similiar is the situation in other countries of Arab world but I definitely agree that woman should be considered as equal stake holders of the society, withou any discrimination.Isolated cases of denying the rights of woman can even be seen in the socalled emancipated societies. But unfortunately these societies have taken a negative turn;women are deprived of proper dress to look acceptable to men. They have reduced the dress of their mothers, sisters and daughters just for enjoying the nudity of their girlfriends to please men (85% woman suffering the inclemencies of weather for mere mean lust of men). Please speak about the rights of these woman also before, they are all sick.

LOL. That was funny Aaron.

Well, apparantly, its the culture that has existed since ancient times. Alledgely (and I use that weakly), Mohammed tried to elevate the position of women and create chivalry amongst his people. However, the mysoginists took those and twisted them to their own liking. For instance, "Women shouldn't travel by themselves because she could be kidnapped or raped in a strange place" became "Women shouldn't leave their house." "Dress discreetly" became "If I see I see a single toe or hair, I'm going to beat the snot out of you."

And I would say that poverty has a lot to do with creating an atmosphere ripe for strong ideologies. When you see how much money the Saudi Royal family get for their oil, and then see the poverty of the average Saudi...well, that would make me angry too.

Just the Arab world? As far as I am concerned women have gotten the shaft (literally and figuratively) from all men. Man have always dominated women. Even today, women in modern society are paid less, sexually exploited, ect ect. Work on yourself before you go pointing fingers at other men.

Why don't u fight for the rights of women in ur country & give them necessary support.

1. In the past women were degraded and used as objects of lust

The following examples from history amply illustrate the fact that the status of women in earlier civilizations was very low to the extent that they were denied basic human dignity:

Babylonian Civilization:
The women were degraded and were denied all rights under the Babylonian law. If a man murdered a woman, instead of him being punished, his wife was put to death.

Greek Civilization:
Greek Civilization is considered the most glorious of all ancient civilizations. Under this very ‘glorious’ system, women were deprived of all rights and were looked down upon. In Greek mythology, an ‘imaginary woman’ called ‘Pandora’ is the root cause of misfortune of human beings. The Greeks considered women to be subhuman and inferior to men. Though chastity of women was precious, and women were held in high esteem, the Greeks were later overwhelmed by ego and sexual perversions. Prostitution became a regular practice amongst all classes of Greek society.

Roman Civilization:
When Roman Civilization was at the zenith of its ‘glory’, a man even had the right to take the life of his wife. Prostitution and nudity were common amongst the Romans.

Egyptian Civilization:
The Egyptian considered women evil and as a sign of a devil.

Pre-Islamic Arabia:
Before Islam spread in Arabia, the Arabs looked down upon women and very often when a female child was born, she was buried alive.

2. Islam uplifted women and gave them equality and expects them to maintain their status.

Islam uplifted the status of women and granted them their just rights 1400 years ago. Islam expects women to maintain their status.

8. Western society falsely claims to have uplifted women

Western talk of women’s liberalization is nothing but a disguised form of exploitation of her body, degradation of her soul, and deprivation of her honour. Western society claims to have ‘uplifted’ women. On the contrary it has actually degraded them to the status of concubines, mistresses and society butterflies who are mere tools in the hands of pleasure seekers and sex marketeers, hidden behind the colourful screen of ‘art’ and ‘culture’.

9. USA has one of the highest rates of rape

United States of America is supposed to be one of the most advanced countries of the world. It also has one of the highest rates of rape in any country in the world. According to a FBI report, in the year 1990, every day on an average 1756 cases of rape were committed in U.S.A alone. Later another report said that on an average everyday 1900 cases of rapes are committed in USA. The year was not mentioned. May be it was 1992 or 1993. May be the Americans got ‘bolder’ in the following years.

As a women I say that is is just as much the womens fault as the mans, and the cultures. The men shouldn't treat the women the way they do, and the women shouldn't allow the men to treat them the way they do. And the culture need to change, not their customs, or beliefs but their morals. Their animals are treated better that the females.

Who's to blame for women's terrible condition in the Arab world?

You should be blamed, or US public or your media....
Because this terrible condition exists only in your mind.

For you freedom means, freedom to have multiple sex partners, freedom to be nude in public.....
Take care for your own stinking civilization.. We don't want that **** here.

Satan has a strong influence in the Arab world. God never intended for his people to worship the false god Allah or to kill Americans. Thats why America needs to help the Arab world. God is working through America.

Better to be alive than to stand up for your rights all at once...a little at a time so as not to be stoned, hanged, etc., especially when you have children. Lord knows you wouldn't have to ask if you were a woman or a sensitive, intelligent man.
