First of all your assuming that a draft would be needed. second of all your assuming that the Democrat's would actually allow the nation to go to war. That is the purpose of Congress you know, declaring war. Well, let me just go right to the lastly and skip all the inbetweens. It would depend on how many red blooded Americans believed that the greater danger was in Iran and not in the halls of Congress.

I don't have to worry about it -- I already served, and now I'm old enough that they won't want me.
But there will be *considerable* opposition to a war with Iran, and I would assume there will be a LOT of people refusing to report for the draft and heading to other countries. If this know-nothing president tries to get us into yet another meaningless, useless war...he'll be impeached. The entire country is tired of him and his stupidity, the citizens of the US won't allow him to do that.
Remember, only congress has the power to declare war -- the president does NOT.

I'm in my 40's now and I regret leaving the navy.
I'm 30% disabled, but I can still push bomb buttons!
I scored 127 on the Defense Language exam, 32 points higher than the max required for their most difficult languages. I'd be proud to act as a translator if it means that I'm helping kill terrorists and terrorist enablers.
(I don't actually mind it when people don't want to join any of the services. We're best as an all-volunteer force and we can respect others who opt out no matter what the reason. However, I will say that that 51-year-old woman up there puts you to shame! Give the lady a gun and God help the terrorists!)
Jesus, Mary and St. Peter, look at all these war-mongers! Makes you proud, doesn't it? That's what America is about...

I doubt that many would run. Don't know how you can think otherwise. And critics of the war (mainly Libtards), while opining, need to start supporting our troop efforts. I know that William Arkin doesn't speak for all Dems, but he and those like him shame us as a culture.

We wouldn't need the draft if we went to war with Iran. It would only last 3 days. That's if the Dems stay out of Bush's way.

No, I only risked my life as a cop for 21 years though. And it wasn't in the same circumstances. Still I got the police purple heart for what happened to me as a cop, I knew I could get killed but I wanted to make this world a beter place.
So not everybody will run, some will stay and do what they feel is their duty to protect the people back home, some of whom will never appreciate it.
