I'm sorry about your mom, I'm a cancer survivor too, it is scary and I bet your mom is scared too. How long has it been between the times she has had it? I bet her doctor will put her on anticancer medications. Sloan Kettering Treatment Center in NY is hosting a special lecture on new treatments for cancer, that's coming up in March. I would learn all I can about the kind she has, knowledge is your best weapon so you can help her pick the treatment she wants and be up to date on what's available.

I've gotten a thumbs down before for this answer before but this woman is a source of strength and inspiration. Her name is Dr. Lorraine Day she is a well respected Orthopedic Surgeon and she beat late stage breast cancer against all odds. She chose to do it without the conventional treatments. but regardless of how your mom chooses to treat this, the only thing that matters is how she fights and there is no doubt she is a fighter! But there is something to be learned and valued from Dr. Day.

Her website:

Sorry to hear your news. My mum was diagnosed just before Christmas. It really is a difficult time for everyone, especially since it is the third time for your mum.

Be there for your mum, chat to her and help her out. Stay busy and make sure you have some time for yourself.

I have started writing a journal which really helps me, I have also contacted Breast Cancer support groups to talk to other people.

All of the best for you and your mum. My heart goes out to you...
