yes it does, because healthy hair grows. split ends means ur hair is damaged

Well I am sorry to say that Hair having split ends does NOT stop or slow growth. Hair is in fact already dead. Hair cells are renewed at the follicle level of the scalp and grows outward. New cells are added to the hair fiber from the bottom gradually increasing it's length.
Splitting is a matter of condition of the hair fib re, when it becomes dry it will separate. You can cut the hair off at the split and if you want to keep it nice well; use less shampoo ( strips the oiled out) and more conditioner. Hair ends though cut across its width will round out again due to wear by combing or brushing . Or even break off. But this in no way slows down hair growth.

It doesn't slow the growth,it keeps hair from getting longer.Split ends and breakage cause the hair that's ALREADY THERE to fall off.

Yes if your hair is really damaged. No, If your hair is healthy and you're able to control your split ends by getting a regular trim. My mom is a hairstylist so that's how I know for sure:)

Yes, split ends break off, so it is still growing at the top but the bottom is breaking off so it doesn't get any longer.

Your hair grows from your scalp, not from the ends. Split ends make your hair look fuzzy and unkept.

yes split ends means that the end of your hair is dead and damaged - if something is dead it cannot possibly grow anymore

im pretty sure it does and if you or somebody has split ends, you/they should get a trim, split ends can lead to baldness if it gets severe.
