I did cook growing up. I seemed to always have a knack for it. I cook a lot now. I have never been afraid to experiment in the kitchen. I remember when I learned what water and flour would do together...make cement in the sink (if left to dry).
My favorite thing to cook is pistachio crusted pork tenderloin.

My mom refused to let us in the kitchen. When I moved out at 18, I could barely cook Kraft Mac and Cheese. Now I can cook anything...as long as I have a recipe for it. AND I can cook it well. I like playing in the kitchen and trying new things.

Yes, I did, and at a very early age, too. My mom was a paraplegic, and I learned to cook in order to help her out around the house.
I still have my copy of "Betty Crocker's Cookbook for Boys and Girls," as a matter of fact. The kids are named things like Sally and Tommy -- not Tiffany and Cody.
And I think I just told off on myself and how old I am! ;-)

Yes, since I was about 8 years old.
My brothers & I were all in the Boy Scouts, so that's mainly how we learned it. We cooked many a meal over a campfire & it naturally carried over into the kitchen.

Yes. And I learned everything I needed to forget to be a decent cook from my mom and grandmother.

Yes I learned a lot from mom . She always had some thing good for my lunch , back then we walked home from school at noon to eat . I always wanted to know how she made it . One thing I loved was hot chocolate pudding with whiped egg whites on top , we put milk & suger on it . The hot & cold combo was great ..
She always came up with some thing great , but it had to have good holesome things in it like milk , eggs ,meat , vegetables . She tought me good .& I tought my kids & now my grand kids
Meat & vegitable dishes , some times with cheese . They love learning .to cook as I did.

yeah my mom had me and my sister "help" her since we were about 2. when we got older, my sister and i used to pretend we were on cooking shows if we were cooking! i'm really glad that we cooked when i was younger, b/c now i am really good at it! unfortunately, all the dishes i did when i was younger didn't make me like doing the dishes as an adult!

Not at all. Mom did all the cooking, and I ate. I sure learned in a hurry though, as we had four boys, and they sure liked to eat.
Now, I love to cook, and if you listen to my friends I am pretty good at it!
