there's a difference between a crazy reason and a juvenile reason. You joined for the latter.

Now that you mention it, I always wondered the same thing. I could never see any advantage in it for me, but thought that was just me. The USMC is going to have to buy your silence as they can't have a former Marine spreading the truth about the Corps. Some of your problems with the GI Bill are because of WHEN you joined/were separated/discharged from active duty and don't have anything to do with the Corps.

there's nothing crazy about it, it's a cool uniform but there's a lot more behind it than looks. i was stationed with marines and even though I wasn't into their "ooh rah" mindframe, they were definitely some guys to have around when you get in a bind.
