We haven't seen him drive in traffic yet. That will be good to see how he does with the car jumping around at Daytona in a pack.

He was already near the front. He made a stupid rookie mistake and kept driving fast even though he knew something was wrong and drove it into the wall. I think I'm safe saying that hes not gonna make it to the end of the 500. Besides, nobody was racing that hard at the begining of the race. No one wanted to screw up there 500 car, except for the racers on the bubble. Montoya will be a flash in the pan just as John Andretti was to Nascar.

Yeah I believe in the guy but I've always said that you need a good car underneath you to be talented in NASCAR. Juan Pablo Montoya may have all the talent in the world but it cannot make up for inferior equipment. Today the rim just got singed off but he had a good car and at least that is a step in the right direction.

#1. He didn't have an engine failure. A right front hub bearing wasn't adjusted properly, ran out of grease or the bearings simply gave up the ghost. He looked good however but so does everybody in clean air. I've got to see him in traffic. No doubt he'll do fine. His learning curve will be short

kind of funny that it was equiptment failure that put him out..didnt mears have alot of equiptment failures and the likes last year...granted montoya has done very well so far and i do think he could possible contend for a win later in the year... but he will only get one if his cars hold up...something his team hasnt done yet for any of their drivers....just a thought..

I doubt he would have won the race. When you have a driver like Gordon that can make that much ground on the last lap and win, you can never count him out.

I thought Juan did a good job while he was in,But it wasn't his engine that gave out ,it was a wheel bearing.Would he have won?No one knows the answer to that.
