okey, this is weird and ive done some research but i dont know what to do.

i think ive got this S.A.D syndrome (Seasonal Affective Disorder). its when you feel sad in different seasons, most people have it in winter but i seem to have it in winter and summer.

in the summer i feel depressed and i miss the winter but in the winter i still feel depressed and i miss the summer. ino it sounds weird and your probly thinking well hes depressed all the time then, but i dont its only in the eveinings. i feel more depressed in the winter than i do in the summer.

im 16 and when i was reasearching it it sed that this syndrome mainly only effects people above 20.

i just want to know if other people feel like this, and how they deal with it.

thanks

To get over it my friends help i get by with movies and take anti-depression pills. I have this problem with others things to so becareful because if you hace seasonal depression you might have over depression that you think is just normal when it isn't

Hello dude. Yes it sounds like you have depression. It could be Seasonal Affective Disorder or plain depression. Depression is caused by an unbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. It is true that sunlight helps with depression, so it makes sense that you feel depressed only in the evenings. It will be useful if you talked about a psychiatrist about it to see the root of your depression. Beside giving a diagnose he can prescribe medicines if you need them. Since you are really young you should join activities that help with depression such as exercising or yoga. Acupuncture is also helpful. I´ve heard that there is also machines which give rays similar to the sun. Argentox2@yahoo.com

I have SAD. It is related to your exposure to light. Winter days are shorter than summer days, so you are more depressed in winter. The way to combat it is with bright light. I have a special bright light unit that makes it easy; i set it next to my computer, lol. But you can get more light without a special unit.
You may also have another type of depression combined with the SAD, but try the bright light and see if you get some improvement.

i sourced a site below, that is more geared to your age group,
in hopes it will help in some way

i have a neice who gets that way in the winter, and fall, she is 15, she was told that it was puberty and hormonal changes, i DO NOT agree with that answer, i talked with my neice and she is slowly overcoming her seasonal depression, now she trys so very hard to find someting good about the season, ie: winter--skating, sleding, skidoing, making snow mans, snowball fights with friends, etc....in the fall she took up digital photography and started taking pics of the leaves changing, hiking, the one advise i gave her that help her was to make a list of why she was depressed and to deal with each issue as they came up, depresion is serous and should be taken seriosly, possiable talking to a school counceler or friends might help, or joining a support group for S.A.D.
i wish you the best of luck

I get it the same way too. I just deal with it and don't do anything about it just live it out. If it helps in the summer stick your head in the fridge or in the winter get a good heater or something good.

My sister's like that; and she's your age too. Maybe it might be because both of you have matured early. But you could ask your doctor if you are willing enough to find out what's up with you.
