Well I had the MRI done it was very expensive but they said it was normal. now what... these symptoms are still present.. especially the slurred speech and weakness in my right hand. They tend to be aggitated by physical activity. This is a question off of the other about anxiety.

Investigate if you would be eligible for charity care.

you may need to have a CT scan done even though you had the MRI. CT will be able to pick up things that cannot be seen with the MRI.

I have several life long diseases and disorders. The first few times I went to the Dr. (well really the first 10 years) they told me over and over that everything is normal. I got a second opinion. And we started digging. After alot of tests and crap, I was able to finally get some answers. And now I live life a little differently than I used to. And it was very expensive.

And now that I have a diagnosis, I am stuck with the crappy insurance where I have a pre-existing condition, I would not be eligible for new insurance for at least a year. Lord knows that when I lost it is when I would need it worst.

Just some things to think about.

Good Luck

Well, that is a good thing. At least you aren't having strokes hopefully. It can be residual effects from Bell's Palsy but it can be other things too. It sounds like it's neurological or muscular and some things are really hard to pin down even with our technology and knowledge. If it isn't getting any worse that is also good. I would try to eat well, get rest, take a good vitamin mineral supplement and go to the Er if it gets worse. They will have to do something for you and all the testing in the world won't prevent something if it didn't show up on the MRI. Also, I had a cervical disk problem and had pain and multiple symptoms for 4 yrs and the MRI did not show the extent that my problem had progressed. They had to do a Mylegram which about killed me. I have had major surgery, disk replaced with cadaver disks and plating and screws and fusion . I am disabled and will never work again or have a normal life. It took that long and now I am paying for it dearly. I am on morphine and don't sleep or drive or have any quality of life. I suffer just to be on here but I have to do something. So, don't give up. I pray it will go away...I pray they will find out the problem and that there is an easy fix. May God be with you. Love coming your way.

Did you talk to your doctor while you were getting the MRI done? Surely after it turned out to be normal he discussed what else could be the problem with you? If he didn't, its either because you didn't tell him, or you need to find another doctor. You can't depend entirely on Yahoo Ask to diagnose your illnesses, the ideal person to do it is a doctor. Talk about your symptoms with your doctor, then let him arrange the tests based on your symptoms. He will steer you in the right direction depending on the results.

I m sure I would be anxious too, if my MRI were negative and I still had all the same symptoms. What all have you been tested for? Have you seen a neurologist? Have they tested you for MS, Parkinson's? There are a whole host of medical conditions this could be categorized into...you need a specialist...not a GP.
