looking for someone who was put up for adoption?

I have a sister who was put up for adoption almost thirty years ago because of the adoption laws in ontario it makes it almost immpossible to find her.They will not allow you any identifying information.does anyone have any ideas how to go about this.i'm not even sure if she knows her birth name.She must definatly know she was adopted because adoptive parents were of a different race. birth name (CINTHIA MUISE)BORN JUNE 24 1977

I too am adopted...My birthmother found be by very odd circumstances last year,it was truly fate...Its to long of a story to tell but before we met I was also in the same position you were in,with my adpotion being closed also,here are a few creative ways I tried to find her....One if you can get the lawyers name that handled the case,it is a plus...Once they retire,as long as they remeber the case,you may be able to work information out of him because he is no longer under oath.Also the social worker (if there was one) is a great plus in your search,again its really based on if she is sworn to keep it private or not and if she remebers.You can also try the largest registrey for adoptees,and there family members...Its called the International Soundex Reunion Registry,Its is located In Carson City Navada,but it is for anyone in the worlds use.I was actually refered there by a friend who was also adopted,not only did she find her birthmother but her story made national TV on the show 60 minutes.I suggest applying for any and every registry available...They are usually free or low cost..Never trust those "Find a long lost family memeber" things..They are never worth in...In the end,if you are truely that desprite you can try making a free website dedicated to her search...Its worked for many a people....I really do wish you the best on your search!I too know how the questions can plague the mind....It the end it will all work out the way it should...If you need to talk,or would like more information feel free to contact me at

You could try to see what the talk show host they could do for you on that matter, and you will have to have a little information so you can start some where even trying on the internet, put some information in the papers also especially the sunday papers, you never know what you might come up with.

have you googled some adoption sites and listed your info there to find her? lots of sites in canada and the US. very helpful helped a lot of people.
