I am curious about the LDS church and was interested in talking with someone, like a missionary, but I would prefer to communicate through email rather than in person.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Where to find a missionary or a member of the church to communicate with via email?

Thank you.

It would be better to talk to the missionaries in person...but, if you would rather email, I am a member and would be willing to answer any of your questions - to the best of my ability of course! Email me anytime.

You're VERY SMART for not learning about Mormonism from missionaries.

If you want to learn about the LDS faith, you should read books, or ask question from their members, visit their Sacrament Meetings on your own terms.

Missionaries are trained in the MTC (Missionary Training Camp) like a car salesman is trained to push a product on to you. They'll selectively teach you about their most basic teachings, sugar-coat it for you so that you'll be baptized.

then a few years down the line, they'll say "Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you that we Believe in a Heavenly Mother who has sex with God to make all of us. That we get to progress to godhood after death with our wife/wives, and that we used to not let black people hold the priesthood until 1978 because our "enlightened" prophets preached from their oppinion rather than revelation."

If you have any question about the LDS faith, I will be more than happy to answer them as objectively as possible. I was a member for 5 years, was baptized, confirmed, held the priesthood, and undergone an Endowment in the Temple (I even performed proxy baptisms for the Dead).

A "Good Mormon" isn't supposed to talk about what happens in the temple. I'm not mormon anymore so I will gladly share the secrets.

I understand its good to get oppinions from both sides. So if you decide to email me, you should speak with an active Mormon also. (You know, I can admit that I'm human and even in trying to be unbiased I will more than likely still prove otherwise).

God Bless you in your endeavors.

I think you already have some coming to you via email with the above post. I have had them email me unsolicited, in the past, and it does not bother me, then or now.

Missionaries are the best route to learn about their beliefs, they are not pushy and are actually understanding of other people's beliefs or lack of them.

Are you crazy? Why do you want to talk to a cult? Don't you know they will do everything they can to separate you from your non-mormon family and friends?
