The thing that's different about the Shootout and the duels is that the duels counts for points paying race. The Bud Shootout was just for winning. Dale Jr just bump drafted Sadler.

It wasnt intentional.If you want to go that way what was it that Jr. did during the Shootout? It was "Racing". As stated earlier they rely heavily on the spotters.With todays safety features (i.e. neck restraints,bigger seats) it is extremely hard to be able to look to the right.Next race when they are showing the in car cams look at the extension to hold the head in the seat,it sticks out past the helmet and it is about in the spot of the visors of the helmets.

Certainly wasn't intentional, spotter error, there was an opening but "smoke" closed it quickly. Don't think you can be too upset with second place finish....? Try rooting for someone in the back of the field and you'll be soon realize that it's just racing and things happen quickly at 185 MPH. There is no Dale Jr. consipracy theory.

Welcome to Nascar! The spotter says "there's a small hole behind the 8". So the driver moves up to that hole in an effort to get in the draft. The "hole" probably shouldn't have been called by the spotter because Jr didn't have the speed to keep that hole open. The hole closed, cars hit. Thats Daytona!
Did you wonder why Jr's response to it was "huh.............that's weird"? It's because he knows that MW wouldn't turn him on purpose and that it's unlike him to make a mistake like that.

Anyone who's a fan of Jr. must be a fan of his dad, who pulled crap like that all the time. Jr. and Waltrip are cool with each other. Jr. understands Waltrip did what he had to do to win a race.

There was a hole, spotter told him, it closed, they spun out. It's racin. Ask either of them. They both rebounded, they're good. That's restrictor plate racin. Get over it.

You know what's sicker? Freaking D.W. taking all day trying to bail his brother out. If it were any other driver he slams blame in an eye-wink. Larry's gun shy too as he picks his words very carefully. This has been going on for years.
