I have read nine times through...backwards and forwards...I know the word of God better than any Pastor.

I'll support Elizabeth W.

I've been through those schools of apologetics, (and hermeneutics, exegesis, the lot...) trying to find a reconciliation I could hold with a clear conscience.
I don't think it can be done without assuming the conclusion in advance. At least, I can't do it.

And if the doctrine is perfection just one discrepancy, error or inconsistency (while allowing for translation, context, culture and all other necessary caveats) wrecks it.
edit: just a simple question then Super Pastor: Which do you take to be the right ending to Mark's gospel, and why?

Your question has been lost in attempted translation The Word of God can appear to have discrepancies, one must pay attention to surrounding scripture, to get the true idea that is there, allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.

The bible seems to contradict itself in many places. There is much debate and whole schools of apologetics that attempt to reconcile and explain these away. It is difficult to know exactly what the writers may have meant considering cultural context in some situations. In discussing the death of Judas the Bible gives two completely different accounts of his death. Apologists say it was probably a combination of the two, certainly not a very convincing argument to all but the devout believers when arguing for an error free literal word of God text.

No there are no discrepancies.

That answers the actual question and to expand . . . . . .

The word is the instruction booklet, history and the way the Holy Spirit communicates through the one and only God to us.

Reading it makes it come alive in your life. Believing it makes you understand the heart of God. Being faithful to follow its instructions gets you to heaven.

God Bless

For me the biggest contradiction is the resurrection account. Christianity is BASED on christ rising from the dead, so it would be important to get it right.

Yet the gospels contradict on such basic things as WHO went to the tomb, WHEN they went, WHY they went, WHO was there (men or angels), HOW many (1 or 2), WHAT they said. There are about 30 things.
