Definately defending "her" den and/or you for that matter. Remember she's a dog not a child as hard as that sometimes is to remember. Her instinct is telling her to defend and just saying no won't always fix it. When she tries I personally would send her out of the room, that may not always work but it will give her the hint its not "her" room its yours and you share it with her. If she is on the bed and acts up banish her to the floor. Removing her from the situation is simular to punishing a child. She will understand better if she can no longer be on the bed when she's bad. When she's there and behaving have a few treats handy and give her one, or better yet have your guest give her one so she understands your friends are nice too and there's no reason to try to boss them around.

She is just territorial and must have a good rapport with you sense it is your room she is protecting. You may have to hold her when people come into your room or put her on a leash or in a kennel in your room until she calms down. Do not close her out. She needs to undertand that people can come in your room while you are there and she should only supervise and not scare them off.

Your dog thinks that room is hers, not yours. She is defending what she thinks is her 'den.'

To correct the behavior, you need to stop her in the act. Let her know by your tone of voice and your body posture that she needs to back off and be quiet, and then you must allow the person to enter your room. If she protests, make her stay sitting and quiet. She'll get the hint, if you are consistent, that you are the pack leader, and that you decide who comes into your den, not her.

Good luck!

The reason she will attack anyone who goes in your room is a territory thing. She thinks the room is hers and wants people to stay out of it she doesnt know or trust. I have a dog who does the territory attack when people go near his bed. It is perfectly normal

i have a coyote mix that is VERY protective, but very intelligent and willing to please me. she doesnt allow ANYONE in the house if we arent home, and when we are, if i want someone in my room i must put her outside or in another room, as she wont allow anyone in there, even if they are her friends. she growls at them all the while wagging her tail and licking them as if to say "i like you but you cant go in here". my dog knows that i want her to accept certain people, and she is trying...she is told to lay down and stay...she growls and barks...but she stays. she has gotten better, and the folks who come over understand and help by talking to her and making an effort to be her friend...this seems to help alot.

Give her a firm touch on the neck with two fingers where the juglar vein is.

This is like a bite to her. That is what a pack leader would do to her.
