I recently got a bump on my gum in the back of my teeth..where my wisdom teeth once were. It is killing me and I can not eat well or even swallow my saliva. It is not too hard and really hurts when I touch it. What is this? The tooth near it does not hurt and the bump is not white.

It could be a canker sore, I didn't think they could be that bad though.

Sounds like an abcess down under the gum line. Go see a dentist, as it might need an antibiotic to get rid of it. The dentist will know best, though, so you should really go! I mean listen to yourself...you're in such pain you can hardly swallow? Don't live with that!

odds are yoo probably have something lodged in one of yoor back teeth and that will make yoor entire gum swollen. or yoo ate something sharp...like tortilla chips, jerky, or candy...and it make it swell up like how yoo would poke yoorself and get a bump. try the good ol' warm salt water. see if it makes any effect.
