I would....still...because of what God does for me on a daily basis. The thought of heaven and hell are a little.....interesting.

The same number of people who would go to work everyday if they were not paid a salary or feared the consequences being poor, and becomming a street person as part of the "equation". - so to say ---

smiles --

(PS: Of course there are some folks who would go to work anyway for the pure pleasure of feeling important, or a sense of belonging, or for a myriad of other reasons. Proof: Some, if not most, multi-millionaires go to work everyday, even though they have no need or even use for more money.

You seem to think that being a Christian revolves around fear or reward, and that's about as off base as it gets.

Christianity focuses on the living Christ, the Son of God. He is our Lord and our Savior, the reason that we have for living. Even if there wasn't a Heaven or Hell, following Him during our lifetimes would be reward enough. Even in the worst of times, we can have peace and assurance, knowing that He's with us.

If you ever meet Him for yourself, you'll understand why we Christians love Him so much.

Christianity, by definition, promises either paradise on Earth, Heaven, Hell, or no resurrection. If you take these definitions out of Christianity then it would never have existed.

Probably not much the spread of the popularity of Christianity is because of the whole reward of heaven, it gave people hope and faith

But there is a promise of reward....FOR US...

) "These things I have written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life"... (I Jn. 5:13)

And there is a reward for YOU...

"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth". - Jesus (Matt. 13:49)

Well, the point of Christianity is that Jesus died not so we would live on earth, but in heaven with God. So if heaven did not exist, then there would be no point for Jesus to come, hence, no Christianity.

Not many because that means there is nothing to be saved from.

THat is like saying how many people would be a Christian if there was no God.

The Christian faith does have TREMENDOUS benefits for our journey on Earth. And since the Truth is that Jesus is the Son of God, as long as it is the Truth, there will be followers.

This is not even a good rhetorical question. I agree w/ the bit about no legs...can't walk. What if I were dead? Would I still be breathing?
