Imagine if you will how wonderful a God we have that is willing to come down to our level, and make Himself small for us. Even though He doesn't have to. In making plans, He is giving us the opportunities to see how great and big He is outside of our own limitations.

I find that reasoning extremely flawed and heres why...
We dont make plans because we are limited, we make plans because that is the first step in creating everything. The M-16 for example is a great weapon that has lasted over 50 years as our primary military assault rifle. It really put the M-14's we were using before to shame. The M-16 is more sophisticated, lighter, has a farther range, is FAR more accurate, and holds more rounds. Now logically speaking, how does a terrific piece of technology like that come into existence without first a desire to build one, a design, a plan for building, and then the actual process of creation? That is the logical creation pattern for ANYTHING you see in existence including nature. There is nothing wrong with God having plans, it is simply the preparation one takes to do something. As we see from the universe and humanity in fact, God is anything BUT limited in power!

God has assigned "appointed times" for certain events to occur.
There is a plan or a time-line of prescribed events to unfold to optimize the harvest and to glorify His Name. To provide a just environment within which all souls have a full opportunity to receive God as their Father. In the sense that God can not or will not force anyone to love Him this objective demands a plan of reconciliation according not to God's limitations but our own. Our limitation is that we cannot in one moment fully grasp the abundant love Father has for us. In fact some never will grasp this love.
Everything will happen at the appointed time within the framework of the reconciliation. Then begins the eternity in fullness of love.

We limit God ourselves. That is one reason I believe there were more miracles long ago. Those people were much more open to the magnificence of God. Modern day people would see a miracle and blame it on science or the earth doing something special.
WE put God in a box. God doesnt live in one.

I've asked this a few times indifferent ways and all they come up with is "because he wants to" or "to teach". That doesn't cut it. He can accomplish the exact same result with no intermediate steps. No pain required. People forget if he's omnipotent he can make you think whatever he wants you to think. He can make you think you learned the lesson without actually performing the lesson.

You are right, why would God make plans if he is omniscient, it makes no sense at all.

God is limited to his Character. His plans are a consequence of his Character. His plans are not ultra specific as some Christians may seem to convey.
