My friend is going to the us in 11 weeks but has a criminal record, I understand that she has to get an appointment with the embassy in london which she has not yet done as she has lost her passport and needs the number to book it, Do you think she has got enough time to do this in?

i know it takes about six weeks for appointment for the embassy,and 2-3 weeks for a new pastport.she will have to get a move on.as for a crimanal record im not sure i would have thought it would interfear with a visa.let her know its better to book an appoint on line for the embassy its quicker.

You wont know until you get your passport and then see the embassy. Embassies have a habit of being tricky, especially the americans - it could be a few weeks, it is better to go and see them in person than try and ring - both with the passport office and the embassy

Your friend ;) needs to contact the embassy and ask them. You can't get this kind of an answer on yahoo.
