The church that I belonged to before we moved was an even mix of white, black, Korean, and Hispanic. Part of every Mass was said in English, Korean, and Spanish, and the Sign of Peace was given in five different languages.
The church members worked together for the good of the community in such projects as the local food pantry, clothing drive, and soup kitchen/homeless shelter. Those people ate, lived, slept, and breathed tolerance for each other, the people of the community, and the world at large.
So unless you are talking about the intolerance of those who would love nothing more than to see all religion wiped off the earth, I'd have to say that the answer to your question is no. At least not in the case of one church I know, anyway.

The problem is people like you dont know the meaning of the word "tolerance." Tolerance to a liberal passivist is not telling someone theyre wrong. But tolerance in the real world, is not ending up in jail, or your kids killed right in front of you, and tortured to death for what you believe. THAT is intolerance and those things happen to Christians everyday because of their faith and what they believe. The only true enemy of the church is Satan.

No. In fact the reason I am still religious is because the church has always been tolerant to me. I also like going to Mass where i see many races of people interacting very peacefully which does not always happen in other environments.

It's true for some, no doubt.
Others actually believe in tolerance.

I guess you can say yes, if it comes to tolerance to sin. Now, I don't mean violence but, when it comes to making sin laws, yes Christians are going to let you know that they are intolerant.

Tolerance of what?
Would you be tolerant if I burned down your house?

Yes, absolutely. They just seem to teach intolerance with every breath. What I can't believe is the motto, "Don't hate the sinner, hate the sin." Why would religion teach hate for anything? Why do they define "sin," and judge people? Isn't that supposed to be God's job?

i don't think so. i think tolerance can be an enabler of religion. if we are so tolerant that we can't confront people's beliefs, then we allow ridiculous fundamentalism.
