Incest was necessary back then to populate. The gene pool was much more diverse than today which allowed this to happen without the consequences you would see today if a brother and sister got together.

I've had two different answers to this question:
- The flimsy "God put other people on earth after Adam and Eve." The Bible, of course neglects to tell us this.
- The twisted "They married (or procreated with) each other, but because Adam and Eve were absolutely perfect and pure, so were their offspring, and their offspring's offspring, so there was no chance of them developing an eyeball in the back of their heads."
Incest is not a problem, also because of this perfection and purity.
Edit * I see that a few people have stated that the gene pool back then was more diverse than it is today. What gene pool? There were two people! One of whom was made from the rib of the other. Please do a little research before making such ludicrous claims.

Eachother, as no other people were created in the Garden at that time. But Adam and Eve were probly so genetically different, that their children marrying would be like marrying someone from a different nationality, though, seperate races and languages didn't really exist until the fall of the tower of Babel.

Eve apparently...
Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain, Able and Seth who were all males. There is only one female there to marry... Of course that would've been adultery since Eve was married to Adam..
Edit: And Cain did marry and his wife gave birth to Enoch.. Just a BTW

It does't matter how many times this question is asked, the answer will be the same... They married their own brothers and sisters to populate this earth until God was satisfied and then He changed those laws.
And after the flood, Noah's sons and their daughters did the same thing again until God put a stop to it the way He did for Adam and Eve's people.

Adam and Eve were NOT the first people. However they were the first of the christian gods people. Their children married other groups of people who worshiped other gods.

They were closer to perfection so marrying close family members didn't have the same effect that it does today. It wasn't until the Mosaic Law that God forbade incest (which didn't exist until he made the law against it). The following few scriptures should help you reason on this.
Gen. 3:20: “Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she had to become the mother of everyone living.” (So all humans were to be the offspring of Adam and Eve.)
Gen. 5:3, 4: “Adam lived on for a hundred and thirty years. Then he became father to a son in his likeness, in his image, and called his name Seth. And the days of Adam after his fathering Seth came to be eight hundred years. Meanwhile he became father to sons and daughters.” (One of Adam’s sons was Cain, and one of Adam’s daughters must have become Cain’s wife. At that time in human history when humans still had outstanding physical health and vitality, as indicated by the length of their lives, the likelihood of passing on defects as a result of marrying a close relative was not great. After some 2,500 years of human history, however, when mankind’s physical condition had greatly deteriorated, Jehovah gave to Israel laws forbidding incest.)
Gen. 4:16, 17: “Cain went away from the face of Jehovah and took up residence in the land of Fugitiveness [or, Nod] to the east of Eden. Afterward Cain had intercourse with his wife [“knew his wife,” that is, intimately so, KJ, RS; “lay with his wife,” NE] and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch.”
(Notice that Cain did not first meet his wife in the land to which he fled, as if she were from another family. Rather, it was there that he had sexual relations with her to produce a son.)

We assume Adam and Eve are just two people. There is a theory that the names are a title and therefore there could be many of them for God to use for his purpose in the earth.

Because marriage is Jehovah God's arrangement. God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and become many and fill the earth. I'm sure happy they followed that commandment or we wouldn't be here today. Having sex relations outside of marriage is wrong in God's eyes.

Quite possibly each other. God had not yet condemend inscest and possibly intervened to ensure that they would have healthy children. Of course Adam and Eve may not have been the only people God had created. There may have been other people.
