I wish you good luck. Here is how you handle the situation. What you do is commit extortion. Tell your parents that if they do not buy you a new computer you will go apeshit and throw temper tantrums in public.

Why don't you convince your parents to let you get a job, so you can buy yourself a new computer. When I was a kid and I wanted something special, I payed for it myself. I started shoveling sidewalks and mowing lawns when I was 9 years old. Then I kept doing that and added a paper route when I was 12. Started working in a cannery in the summer time when I was 16, 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I saved most of my earnings, and when I wanted something special for my room I talked to my parents about it and payed for it myself.

what is wrong with the one you are using now? can you parents afford a new computer? if they can ask if you can get an early bday or xmas present as a computer or an advance on your allowance. Or help pay for it. Draw out a contract stating what you will do for the new computer, like dishes, clean the house, take out the trash, blah blah blah. All that stuff, then sign it so you will be bound by it, so you will do it then maybe you can get a new computer.

Get a job and save up. Tell your parents You are planning on buying a computer with the money from your new job and ask them if they would be willing to help you pay for half of it.

Itemize the dinosaur qualities of the computer. 15-30 minute log on...unrequested log offs resulting in lost data...system crashes...limited RAM...ancient processor...

Go on and on, but also shop around for the computer you want. I bought a Dell with MS XP and Vista capability. Got rid of my dinosaur and am able to do much more than before. Price them and only buy what you need.

Write down a list of things you need a new computer for and present it to them.

Be extra, I mean extra nice nice to them and do everything they say for couple of months. Don't forget to do your chores and your homework without being told.
