Well it's not a good thing to do but all your information is transferred to a collection agency which tries to contact you to recover money. After being unsuccessful since your're nowhere to be found, it is listed on your credit report.

You'll get a bad credit rating if you don't pay, whether you leave the country or not.

The poor sod that takes up residency at your address will be bombarded with post for you and will no doubt have bailiffs knocking on their door. The idiot that lived in my old address decided to do this and it caused me enough stress dealing with the crap she left behind (scum bag)!
If you can't pay your credit card, why spend on it in the first place? How can you afford to leave the country if you can't pay for your credit card. PAY YOUR DEBTS, pay your way...the rest of us have to - end of story!

Walk away from your debts. When you leave the country you break away from its closed legal system which has a hold on you. If I were you I would move to a tropical country of your choice (take out lots of loans and just leave).
