It's hard to say without further information. If it is a newer vehicle it is likely that such mileage took place on very long trips. Long trips are very healthy for a car.

With any high mileage vehicle you are going to be more likely to get repairs, but frankly most Japanese cars run and run. You could easily get another 100,000 miles out of it if it has been well maintained.

My grampa just gave me a 2001 gs 300 with 27,000 (sorry, not to brag) My mom has a 2001 gs 300 with like 90,000 miles. They both drive the same and feel the same. At about 50,000 miles these cars have 3 sensors that go out and there like $1,000 a piece (bad), also they have bearings in the suspension that go out. I would strongly advise you to go with something a bit newer. From experience a lexus dealer is the only place to go for the repairs, and if its not under warantee it is alot of money down the drain. And as you probably know the older a car is the more is going out. Lexus is a great choice, and any one you get you will be happy with. MAKE SURE TO STAY AWAY FROM ANY GERMAN MODEL (MERCEDES-BMW) My dad has a mercedes and it is always in the shop, and there all this way. As far a reliability japanese cars are the best. (lexus-toyota-honda). IF A CAR IS TOO GOOD OF A DEAL TO BE TRUE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG, MAKE SURE TO GET A CARFAX REPORT TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WASN'T IN ANY ACCIDENTS!!!!!!! Without seeing the car first hand, hearing it, etc its hard to make that decision. To be safe, run it past a Lexus dealership and have them look the car over for issues or problems. Should just be the cost of 1 hour of labor.

But the miles in general is not high for a Lexus. If you take care of a Lexus it will easily last to 300,000 miles. But like all cars, repairs and normal maintenance is required.

Buddy just bout a 98' SC400 and it has 98,000 miles. She looks showroom new and purrs just like a new kitten.

I myself am looking at 100-125k, GS400 or GS430's.

93' SC, 155k miles....price should be from $4-$9000 depending on the condition, upkeep and option packages. $6000 woiuld be a fair middle price.

No, it shouldn't. When I went in to buy my IS 350, I took my dad with me and he asked the salesman how long they should last. He took us to the back of the dealership and showed us a 1990 LS 400. He told us to take a wild guess at how many miles it had. I guessed high and said 300,000. He showed me the mileage counter and it was at 525,000 miles! He even started it up and it purred like a kitten. He also showed us the VIN on the engine and it was the same as the VIN on the dash board which means it was the original engine. It was absolutely amazing that a car could go that long. The dealer said that it still had a lot of life left in it. So basically, 155,000 miles on a Lexus is nothing. But if it's used, and I'm assuming it is, you can never be sure.

Well, my 1981 VW Rabbit diesel 5-Speed had 326,600 miles on it before I gave it away due a new disability in me ( I lost my right leg in a train accident so I couldn't drive standard transmission), and that was in the year 2000, and I bought it used in 1982 with about 16,000 miles on it, and it NEVER had a major part replaced, and not many minor ones either, and I only paid several thousand dollars for it then. So, if a Lexus is supposed to be as good as it touts itself to be, AND DEPENDING ON THE PREVIOUS OWNER(S)' HISTORY WITH THE CAR, it should last you at least another 155,000 miles if you want it to and you drive it sanely. But then, it's not a diesel, and it's not German made, so, just check out the history of the car such as previous owner(s) and where the car was geographically and whether it was in any flood prone regions or severe storm regions. God Bless you.

Definately not. Those cars last so long its unbelievable. If you wanted an american made car then don't go over 125,000 miles. For a lexus that is nothing. If the car has been driven decent then you should have at least another 100,000 miles left before anything goes wrong.

No,

My wife has a 1998 GS 400 with 150,000 miles and I drive a 1995 GS 300 that just turned over 180,000. I think the SC has the same engine as my GS 300. Just do maintenance and enjoy the ride for another 155,000.

It all depends on how well the car was taken care of. I have worked on Lexus' with over 200,000 miles that were in great shape. Like I said it all depends on the previous owner. One thing you could do is take the car for a test drive to a mechanic u trust and have them look it over.

Thats a lotta miles for any car ....but a Lexus is higher quality than most others. But really, it depends on what it is gonna cost you , or , in other words, WHAT R U PAYIN' 4 IT? Also.....WHAT YEAR IS IT, in other words is it a newer car with a lot of miles or an older car with a lot of miles ? The best thing to do is ....." TELL THE SELLER YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR MECHANIC LOOK AT IT ". If it's in good shape , and the price is right .....BUY IT . You would probably get 2 or 3 trouble-free years out of it.....probably more .
