I had testicular cancer. The chemotherapy was worse than the cancer itself. Up until my chemo began, I only felt back pain. I would play sports and the extra weight would cause back pain. My testicle didn't hurt.
The cancer spread to my lymph nodes so I had to have chemo. The chemo caused me to lose a lot of weight. Loss of appetite was a big problem. I also lost my hair, fainted a few times, lack of energy, etc. I would be in pain at times, however my experience pales in comparison to most other forms of cancer.

I read the others answers first. Being an Oncologist RN and having worked in Hospice where all our patients were cancer patients, whether it is a primary or metastatic lesion, bone cancer wins hands down as the most painful cancer. Breast cancer is very unkind as it takes years to die from it. Liver, ovarian, and pancreas cancer and certain lung cancers are rapidly progressive to an early death. Pain is relative...there are some patients who are quite stoic, and have a high pain threshold...others are in agony with a headache....so it depends. But in generality speaking, I would have to say that no patient I have ever taken care of didn't have intractable pain in the last weeks to months of their lives. It is a devatating disease, and literally kills the whole family ....emotionally

Chemotherapy in general is sickening, radiation is draining. The surgery involved can be very painful but meds are given. Lung cancer in it's final stages is very painful as is most internal cancers. Leukemia I would not wish on my worst enemy-I believe it has the most relapse rates. My cousin had Leukemia and I had breast cancer. It is as you make it. I decided cancer was not killing me and it's been nearly 5 yrs. Only those who are strong in mind and body will survive.
