Spirituality and religion. The great debate. I believe that everyone from time to time needs to believe that there's something bigger and more important than themselves. Something to rely on, something that will push you past your limitations. If you grew up with religion and you're still a part of it, it's probably helped you in ways you don't even know. If you grew up without it, you've come to realize that some things just can't be explained. Whatever you believe, you don't have to spew it all over people because they may not feel the same way. The best thing to do is to take some time to yourself without anyone else around and really think about why you believe what you believe and just take it from there. It's fun because as you figure it out, you'll realize other things happening that you never really paid attention to.

You are talking to a psycho Jesus Freak. Christ is not a "thingy", but more the path to the Almighty God's beauty and love. In dying for all of us, I think He deserves more respect than "christ thingy".

I don't believe I need to be saved by Christ and I don't believe in his divinity. Of course initially when I read this question my mind went right into the gutter and I almost asked, "Of which christ *thingy* are we talking about?" I don't know much about his thingy.

Do you mean, do I believe that Christ came into the world as a man and lived a perfect life, that He befriended woman and children even at the expense of ridicule. Do I believe that He cares for sinners and ultimately died to save them. That He suffered the pain of the cross so that people like you can reach God and be called a child of God. That even to this day He is in Heaven praying for His Children here on earth? Yeah, I believe in Jesus.

The word 'Christ' means 'Anointed One'.
Its the Greek word for Messiah (in Hebreux) meaning "Promised One."
He did appear.
He was quite the teacher.
Its either one of the most elaborate hoaxes (carried out over 1500 years) or its true and real.
It certainly worthy of examination.

If by "Christ thingy", you mean Jesus Christ, then yes, I do. Otherwise, my being a Catholic would be rather pointless, don't you think?

You are a very disrespectful young woman. I wouldn't take what you hold sacred and cast such dispersions on it. It now appears that you have never taken time to find out anything about Jesus. If you had evidence for His birth, torturous death, resurrection, and His yet to be fulfilled reappearance would be in your mind before being so ignorance. I am not telling you to go read the Bible, that would be a waste of my effort to type the words. I will show you what was said about Him (His death) in just three verses written by a King 900 years before Jesus walked the earth.. Then YOU show me all the reasons you are so blasphemous..

Palms 22:14-18
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my
vesture.

I don't show you this intending for you to believe what it says.. After all you hate the things of God. I show it to you so you can see that Christians have evidence, strong evidence that Jesus is just who He said he is.. The creator of the heavens and the earth. God in human flesh... Jim

I don't believe it is a thingy. I don't find it necessary to be disrespectful to others beliefs just because I don't agree with them. you need a few lessons in educate and good manners if you ask me little girlie. or you need a glass of warm milk and your pacifier and be tucked in bed.
