I have never been there before and is my dream destination. I have always wanted to go. Can anyone tell me what St. Patricks day is like there and where are the best pubs to go to (preferably irish ones!) Any great restaurants you would recommend? And can you tell me can you get pancakes and bacon for breakfast, have a longing for it since I was pregnant! Would appreciate any tips at all. Thanks

Tir Na Nog on Eighth Avenue and 33rd Street (near Madison Square Garden) - fun pub and excellent restaurant. They serve a very good Sunday brunch.

Paddy Reilly's Music Bar on Second Avenue and 29th Street - live music

Molly's Pub, Third Avenue and 23rd Street

Rocky Sullivan's, Lexington Avenue and 28th Street

All diners and coffee shops serve pancakes and bacon (usually available all day long). While you're here, get a Traditional Irish Breakfast - Irish bacon is so much better than what you'll get in an American restaurant. The Irish Rogue on 44th and Eighth Avenue serves an excellent Traditional Irish breakfast till about 4pm.

Ok..every bar is an Irish bar on St. Paddy's day in NY. The City is full of little pubs, there is no way you won't have a great time.

So the one and only place I celebrate St Patricks day is at Jakes DIlemma (81st and Amsterdam), its a bar (not Irish) but its alot of fun and on St Pattys day it gets packed....you really didnt specify what kind of bar you wanted, if your looking for a more relaxed atmosphere there is the Pig and Whistle on 46th St bet 5th and 6th...they are irish....I dont do Brunch so cant help you there.
