I want my tattoo to say "Faith, Love and Hope" in Hebrew. Does this sound like a good idea?

Posh's tattoo inspired me.

Hi I actually have a spine tattooed on my spine with wings and bio mechanical what nots coming off of it and I think the section of the spine between the shoulder blades hurt the most out of the whole thing. If you want it like Posh's on the back of the neck area I didn't find that as painful. Plus because of all the nerve clusters you end up feeling it in other areas of your body like elbows, it's weird. Hope I was of some help

Agreeing with everyone...it's not gonna affect your nerves...

Tending to DISagree with everyone on the "spine hurts like a sonofabiscuit" bit....my most recent ink is a backpiece. I've gone 2 sittings already totalling 4 hours and have at least 3 more hours left before it's finished. On this piece, the part directly over the spine is the LEAST painful. The bit that hurts the most is the further away from the spine the design goes. But this is just my experience. I have muscle spasms in my back so the further out the needle goes, the more muscle twitching I get. The ribs hurt more than the spine. If it were just spine, I could take a nap!
But again, that's just me...everyone is different. That tattoo looks fairly thin and smallish...shouldn't be too bad

Well, it will hurt a lot, because there are a lot of nerves, and there's not much fat between the skin and the bone. I have a tattoo directly over the base of my spine, and OUCH! (But it was totally worth it.)

The ink will definitely not affect your nerves. The needles don't go that deep. Only through the first few layers of skin.

It sounds like a cute idea for a tattoo, but you might want to be more creative. Don't get something because a celebrity has it. Think of your own idea, or get an artistic friend to design something unique for you. (Or design something yourself!) It will have a lot more meaning, and you will probably not regret it later in life. Do you really want one of the Spice Girls forever immortalized on your skin?

The ink will not affect your nerves, as it's injected into a layer of skin. Your spinal cord is inside your verterbrae for protection. Af for hurting, yes. Most tattoos, depending on your personal pain tolerance levels, will hurt. However, any part of any tattoo that is in an area with less padding over a bone or that has more nerves in the area will hurt more.

I would also recommend that if you do get something in an alphabet you may not know, get someone who writes that language to translate. Tattoo flash is quite often carelessly drawn and mistranslated when it comes to non-Latin alphabets and symbols.

All tattoos have some degree of pain associated with them. It's different for different people. Someone might get a spine tattoo & not feel too much pain, while someone else might find it almost unbearable. You have no way of knowing what it will be like for you until you do it.
No, it will not effect your nerves. The ink will not come into contact with anything below your skin.

tattoos on the spine hurt extremely bad. i have had some experience with this and am not finished yet. it really is a miserable experience. but the tattoo will not affect any nerves nor will it cause you to NOT be able to have an epidural (a common myth). if that is the tattoo you want, then go for it.

any where on the bone can hurt. i have one on my ankle and it was on the bone, didn't hurt VERY bad, but it hurt like a tattoo would. as far as nerves go..... the ink doesn't go far enough down to get anywhere near your nerves.......

no worries.....if it was that bad for you, i don't think Posh would have gotten it. :)

honestly sorry to say your wrong wtfnutmeg, but you r.
the lower on your back closer to your butt the more it hurts, you have to understand the the needle is going into you skin deep enough to be permementint into the dermis as opposed to the epidermis which is the first 6 layers of your skin.and it can trigger nerves. it is a sensitive spot and going over bone where the skin is thin is painful, one of the most painful spots is your foot. but hey if it weren't ment to be tated then they would do it their, honestly if you never had a tattoo b4 it aint hurting its burning, it feels like you skin is burning and ripping after a while it mostly goes numb.i got 5 and the foot hurt the worst and that was my most recent and i hate getting shots or cuts so it not like im pain tolerant b/c i am not
