Don't worry about how much your dog sleeps unless his/her sleep is so deep that they don't wake up by normal activities like the doorbell. General illness, medications, hypothyroidism, depression and senility can cause dogs to sleep more than normal so check with your vet.

You must have an active house or big windows ?
Your dog probably watches things going on during the day , then when your home it's rest time.
Or you are home or have kids at home and he or she plays so much, that later he or she seems to sleep a lot.
