If done so correctly yes, after all we have a model to go by now since the last amnesty program turned into such a disaster. Everyone may as well admit the gov. is not able or willing to deport / remove over 12 million people, no way, no how. So now what needs to be done is document these people to help curb, that"s right curb, identity theft as this problem is also still a ways off from being preventable. If we document all these people most of the illegal immigration moaners will realize that illegals don't only come from Mexico but from all over the world. Just about everyone on this site that gripes about illegal immigration seems to have the same impossible solution of DEPORT THEM BACK TO MEXICO without even thinking or presenting a realistic plan or idea on how to do so. Try to imagine the cost to deport someone back to South America or China, then multiply by at least 10,000. Taxes would have to increase and right now just about all the moaners will say "raise my taxes" but when the time comes to pay they will start crying and complaining. But as I have said before no amnesty unless the borders are under control by any means necessary.

NOT A CHANCE! IT WILL BE WORSE!!!!!! I have no moral problem shipping everyone of them back to their home country. That includes the anchor babies! If they want to return when they are adults, fine. They don't belong here and we shouldn't have to pay for a bunch of criminals with our tax dollars.
Amnesty rewards all the illegal alien CRIMINALS that are here and it's very unfair to all the people that have been waiting in line to become citizens LEGALLY.
Besides, If they are granted amnesty, the flood that will occur will be so huge when people try to beat the deadline and then LIE about how long they have been here. In addition, people will continue to come, anticipating the next round of amnesty.
WE CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THE WHOLE WORLD! We can't afford to. We should be worrying about legal US citizens, not the criminals from other countries.

No, amnesty will show the world that the USA does not respect its own laws. There are immigration laws, there are people who go through the right way. The USA cannot reward criminals and neglect the legal ones.

Reagan's / Kennedy's amnesty of 1986 resulted in tens of millions more illegal aliens. People living in the cities being inundated are stressed...they move out into the wilderness areas...our wildlife is being utterly decimated.
No more amnesty! And this making tens of thousands here and tens of thousands there citizens without appropriate background checks is another giant slap in the face to U.S. citizens, and one more step toward the giant North American Alliance.
Just say no to amnesty. We have a right to be a sovereign nation of laws with WILDLIFE!

No ! You don't reward criminals. We don't need another magnet for people who want the American dream by breaking OUR laws. It is interesting that the illegals are blind to the law, but if they feel they are wronged, THEY want justice , by demanding everyone else follow the law !! Send them all back to the country they really love, you can tell by the flag they wave !!

We need to enforce the borders, track down and deport all illegals, We did the Amnesty bit once before. So lets track them all down. You can earn citizenship, by serving in Iraq.

It seemed to work when Reagan did it.
If the people are already here, then they're already part of our infrastructure. The main argument against illegal aliens is that they don't pay taxes--if they are fined for the crime of entering illegally (and fines are a *common* judicial punishment) but then made legal, we get income from the fines *and* we start getting revenue from their taxes. That would MAKE us money. Rounding them up and bussing them back to Mexico would *cost* us money in all the people we have to hire to do it, and we'd still have a problem with the people we can't find.
