No, it needs to be Government Issued I.D.

"You are now required to have a acceptable set of identification in order to either enter the secure areas of the airport or to enter an aircraft. Typically, a current photo identification that was issued by some level of government will be sufficient. For example, driver's licenses, state ID cards, military ID cards, and passports are acceptable, but photo identification issued by a school or private employer are not acceptable. For a domestic U.S. flight, if you do not have an appropriate photo ID, some airlines allow you to substitute two non-photo IDs that are issued by some level of government. When in doubt, check with your airline. "

FROM THE TSA WEBSITE:

We encourage each adult traveler to keep his/her airline boarding pass and government-issued photo ID available until exiting the security checkpoint (children are not required to show identification). The absence of proper identification will result in additional screening

No. You need a government issued photo ID. A sudent id will not suffice by itself. There are three lists, A,B, and C that have forms of ID you can use. If you don't have a drivers license, you will need your ID and something else. Contact TSA directly- www.tsa.gov to see what is on each list.

DO NOT BRING JUST YOUR SCHOOL ID..YOU WILL BE DENIED BOARDING!

You will need a government issued ID. You can usually go to your local driver's licensing office for a state ID. Call or visit their website first to see what's necessary - birth certificate, etc.
