I adore the salt & vinegar chips, other than that, I generally don't like potato chips. However, when I go to buy them, they are almost always sold out of the salt & vinegar flavor and quite a few of the others & that's at most grocery stores and health food stores (not like it's just one place). They didn't have the salt & vinegar today & curiousity got the better of me when I saw the beer & cheddar flavor. The guy @ the checkout was pretty excited that the store had them instock and asked me if I'd tried them before and said that whenever HE goes to buy them they are always sold out. Is my experience anecdotale evidence or are they that popular everywhere?

kettle fried potato chips have been around for a long, long time. the flavor varieties available now are the new thing, however. salt & vinegar is not really that new, but is an excellent combination, and thus sells out quicker than other flavors.

I'm with you, I don't really like potato chips all that much. But I never go out with the intention of buying them. If I am going to buy any chips it will be Sun Chips. If the flavor I want aren't there I just don't get any.
I've tried Kettle chips, I guess they are ok but nothing to dance around for.
