Okay. I have two lovebirds.

If you have experience let me know what you think.

Everytime I go near their cage today they start screeching real loud. Normally their talk/singing doesn't bother me but this is something else. And I did notice some head snaking/shaking. I don't know what it is. Give me some suggestions. I tried observing to see and checking cage but can't figure it out. Also when I don't respond to their screeching they'll stop for awhile until I leave or come back.

It is driving me up a wall :)

It is a sibling pair. They aren't sexed.
Why do you say hope it isn't brother/sister pair???

the reason they are screeching at you is for you to go away, that they want privacy as they want to start mating ! I have a bit of experience with this and this is almost always the case you see a sudden change in temperment out of the blue! You have nothing to worry about, if you have no nestbox (as i assume u not going down the road to breeding) this will just pass but give them their space and after a while they'll be fine again. If your thinking going down the road of breeding and your not sure if they're a sibling pair or not 'Dont' because your going to create major heachaches for yourself as complications are almost guaranteed. They can't be a related if your thinking of starting to breed your lovebirds ! Just try not to startle them when you enter the room, give a small tap on the door beforehand :)

I also have two lovebirds and since spring time is getting nearer, they weil start nesting soon. My birds layed eggs recently and just before that, they were acting differently as well... I would suggest getting them a nesting bed because if they are going to nest, they need to lay them in a place where they won't roll around. My birds prefer nesting boxes. Maybe they just want attention also! Whatever the case may be, good luck!

I have a tropical bird (Blue Crowned Conure), and whenever I walk by the cage he does the same thing you were talking about. I asked our vet, and she told me that approaching them slowly will stop that, which kind of worked for a while, but he started up again. I think birds are just like that sometimes.

Yep, spring is coming. They need some space now. I hope you don't have a brother/sister pair.

He is 'flipping the bird' at the audience (meaning us) but being politically correct he is using the other finger
