If you're headed over seas, you better eat, drink, sleep, or whatever you can do with her before you go. You'll go "without" (no, I'm not just talkin' about sex) for so long over there and if you're lucky enough to make it back alive or in one piece, she'll probably will have moved on with her life with someone else by then. When opportunity knocks, you MUST open the door. (even if it just for a quick minute)

No you should not have let it go. If you like her there is nothing wrong with taking her to dinner even if you may be leaving for basic training shortly. At least having asked her out you won't be left with all those "what if" questions that you would have had, had you not asked her out. Just have fun, after all it's only dinner. See what develops.

It isnt a dumb thing to do! If you like her alot, and she really likes you, then your decision to go away to training shouldnm't interfere with that. I know its a long stretch but if you have had your eyes on her for that long, there must definatly be chemistry between the two of you! Give dinner a shot, tell her about what your feeling about all of this, she will probably understand and if she doesnt she wasnt worth the hassle your putting yourself through. If dinner goes well and she does understand you should be out of the woods and slowly your relashionship can progress!

NO! You did the right thing. It's obvious that she likes you, and if you have to go away, then you'll be happy that someone loves you and you can think about her when you're gone.
That's pretty sweet. Just let her know that you may not be totally available for a while.

Well your entitled to fall in love and go out to dinner. Just explain and be up front with her about you going to basic training. If she doesn't want to date you because of that then...what can you do?

Nope...She'll be good for you when you find yourself far away from everything that's familiar to you. Before you know it, you'll marry her. Yep...Hubby has 16 years in the Army and was a drill sgt at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri for two years. Privates go one of two ways...They get married or they become eternal bachelors.

No I think its great. Enjoy the time you have, be hoenst with her about your situation, but enjoy the time no less. Who knows, maybe you won't end up going as soon as you think. But I do think you owe it to her to be honest.
Good Luck!
