I Noticed that Army personell is walking around with no hat on,half the time& when they do wear a hat It's a Field cap now....did they stop wearing Black berets?

Wait til you you see the new ones gays in the military have come up with. They are fabulous. I hear queer eye for the straight guy loved them.

It's the Commander's decision & depends on what the envioronmnt is. In garrison the beret is the authorized headgear... in the field, it's the Patrol Cap.
Personally, I prefer the PC; you don't get rings around the top of your head like you get when you wear the beret.

Nope, we still wear the black beret with ACUs - unless there's another type of headgear specified or authorized by local commanders.

The "hat" is called a patrol cap. There's also an ACU camouflage boonie hat for field use (if authorized).

it all depends on what the commander authorizes... a lot of us prefer PCs to berets...
