Army Regulation 670-1 does not say that you cannot put your hands in your pockets, but what it does say is that you are allowed to put your hands in your pockets to retrieve things from them... they should not stay in your pockets though... i hope this helps you out.... i spent over 10 yrs in the army... almost everything is open to interpretation...

It's easy...... it's called Mom 001 subparagraph 001. "You will always look like a doofuss whatever the occasion with your hands in your pockets". Most men learn that having your hands out shows confidence, bearing and being ready for anything. Hands in the pockets in any level of society denote weakness. Though ther apparently is an exception for skate rats and rednecks through ignorance.
The military has rules like this to instill mental order and a pride in appearance.

Um, would help to know what service you're in.
